Ontario Co-operative Association Receives $90,500 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant

Guelph, ON – MPP Liz Sandals is pleased to announce that the Ontario Co-operative Association will be receiving a grant of $90,500.

The grant, announced during the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives, will allow the Ontario Co-operative Association to expand economic opportunities for Ontarians across the province by supporting and developing 10 to 15 new co-operative enterprises in the North, East and South Western regions of the province.

“Guelph has had great success with co-operative businesses, both large and small. I am delighted that this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant will enable the Ontario Co-operative Association to expand this success in other Ontario communities.”

-- Liz Sandals, MPP for Guelph

"“Through this OTF grant, On Co-op will provide enhanced support to forming and existing co-operatives in three key regions of the province”, said Mark Ventry, Executive Director of the Ontario Co-operative Association. “Already, about 25 new co-operatives are formed each year in Ontario, and these funds will allow us to further broaden the awareness of the co-op business model and provide more opportunities for development of co-operatives.”
